No, it wasn’t boring. The VJH Physician Society Annual General Meeting was a fun-filled and informative event enjoyed by all who zoomed in to participate on November 24, 2020.
Making attendance worthwhile were virtual trivia quizzes as well as a surprise half time treasure hunt. Game winners had the opportunity to win up to $3000 donated in their name to local charities. President Dr. Kira McClellan, sporting a lively yellow feather boa, oversaw the evening program, welcoming attendees to the virtual meeting due to the pandemic’s social distancing requirements.
The evening agenda intermingled with fun games and business also included a PowerPoint presentation covering background information on the Facility Engagement Initiative, the creation of the VJH Physician Society, and highlights of the year’s activities. The financial statements of the Society for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2020, were also presented.
Game winners and charity donations were:
“Name That Working Group Member quiz: Dr. Kevin Wiseman, donating his $1000 winnings to the Vernon Salvation Army Foodbank.
Treasure Hunt game: Dr. Kathryn MacKinlay, donating her $1000 winnings to the North Okanagan Youth & Family Services Society (NOYFSS).
